Circuit Breakers

The IUGN11-31854-8 circuit breaker is a device used in electrical systems, providing switching and electrical protection for circuit overloads, short circuits, and emergency shutdown conditions. Generally, it includes an operating mechanism designed to control thermal and electrical load conditions in a variety of electrical system configurations.

Application Fields

The IUGN11-31854-8 circuit breaker is primarily designed for use in general industrial applications. It is suitable for "reverse feed" or "upside down" installation, where the operating lever is at the top, and the power connections are at the bottom (see Figure 1). It is also suitable for AC power grids, air-conditioning electrical systems, heating systems, lighting circuits, and rarely for small motors with light-load current requirements.

Working Principle

The IUGN11-31854-8 circuit breaker has a three-phase configuration (see Figure 2) and works according to the following principle: when the current in the circuit exceeds its limits, the operator in the circuit breaker detects the overload, trips the breaker contacts, and interrupts the current flow. This interrupts the electrical supply and protects the circuit.

The IUGN11-31854-8 circuit breaker has several features designed to provide electrical and thermal protection. It is equipped with an adjustable overload current; an adjustable short-circuit current; and an adjustable temperature control system that allows it to operate at a safe temperature when overloaded. In addition, it has a temperature-compensated overcurrent monitoring facility, an indicator light to indicate if a system overload situation is present, and a manual reset button.

The IUGN11-31854-8 circuit breaker is designed to be maintenance-free and to provide a cost-effective and reliable protection solution for a wide range of industrial applications. It has a long service life, and can operate under extreme temperatures and high humidity.
