JCG-6R application field and working principle

JCG-6R is a medium-voltage current limiting fuse specifically designed for protection from short-circuits and overloads. The fuse offers superior current limiting characteristics that provide a level of protection far superior to other fuse types. It is mainly applied in power distribution systems, telecommunications, and industrial control systems for current limiting protection.

As a current limiting fuse, the operation of the JCG-6R is a combination of three independent functions: overcurrent protection, arc extinction, and current limitation. First, an overload trip mechanism controls the current level during the rise time of the fault current. Next, an arc extinguishing mechanism provides protection from arc damage by controlling the arc current in the presence of high fault current levels. Lastly, the current limiting mechanism provides superior current limiting capabilities by automatically controlling the arc current during the decay time of the fault current.

The JCG-6R is designed for a wide range of power system applications, including power distribution, communications, and industrial control systems. Its superior current limiting characteristics provide superior protection from both short-circuits and overloads. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to +65°C and it is rated 600 V. In addition, the fuse has a wide variety of configurations, including single, dual, and multi-pole configurations. Furthermore, the JCG-6R is designed to meet the requirements of UL, CSA, and IEC specifications.

The JCG-6R has been tested to provide superior protection under a variety of fault conditions. In order to validate its performance, manufacturers run a variety of tests, including Short-Circuits, Overloads, Temperature, Dielectric Strength, Leakage Currents, Contact Resistance, and Arc Extinction Tests.
