K50 Series oscillators are ideally suited for a broad range of communication and digital signal processing applications in communications systems, switches, routers, and servers, as well as medical ultrasound imaging systems, data acquisition systems and many other embedded systems requiring a reliable and cost effective clock source.

Working Principle

K50 Series oscillators are based on CMOS-compatible circuitry that uses the fundamental frequency-producing elements as the main clock components. To produce the oscillating frequency of the oscillator, a series of logic elements are used to generate a periodically changing voltage across the oscillator’s capacitor. As the voltage of the oscillator’s capacitor periodically changes, the frequency of the oscillator changes, producing the K50 Series’reliable clock signal.

The frequency of this oscillator is primarily determined by the values of several components: the C 1 capacitor, the C 2 capacitor, and the R amplifier resistance.
