The KTU-601 is an electrical specialty fuse widely used in various industrial and commercial applications. The fuse uses a unique design to provide overload and short circuit protection for various electronic circuits. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, including in power supplies, automotive, telecom, healthcare, and light industrial.
Design & Construction
The KTU-601 is a small, cylindrical unit with a diameter of 1.5 inches and a length of 3.5 inches. The outside of the fuse is composed of copper alloy. It features a two-piece, triple pole design with a metal sheath and a ceramic material as its insulating layer. The inside of the unit is composed of an indium alloy and a zinc alloy. In addition, the device also has a pre-charge feature, which allows it to change from an open to a closed circuit or vice versa rapidly without causing any damage to the connected device.
The KTU-601 is designed to withstand a voltage of 600 VAC at temperatures up to 140 degrees Celsius. It is UL listed and compliant with CSA and VDE standards. The fuse is rated for up to 100A, 125VAC, meaning it is capable of withstanding large currents without blowing.
Application
The KTU-601 fuse has a variety of uses in a variety of industries. It is most commonly used in situations where protection from short circuits and power surges is paramount. In power supplies, for example, the fuse is often used to protect various components such as transistors, resistors, and capacitors from high-voltage shocks or spikes. The fuse also provides protection from overloads and spikes when devices are powered on or off suddenly.
In addition to power supplies, the KTU-601 is used in automotive, telecom, healthcare, and light industrial applications. In automotive, it is used to protect electrical mechanisms such as fuel pumps, brakes, and lighting. In healthcare, it is commonly used to protect sensitive medical equipment from electrical hazards. It is also used to protect circuit boards in telecommunications equipment, as well as for protection against power surges in light industrial applications.
Working Principle
The KTU-601 fuse operates on the principle of a thermal-magnetic field. Under normal circumstances, when the ratings of the connected equipment and the fuse are matched, the current will flow uninterrupted. But when the current exceeds the rated value of the fuse, the internal heat generated by the current causes the fuse to activate its thermal-magnetic field, which will open the circuit and prevent further current from flowing. The fuse will then cool down and the circuit will automatically reset.
The KTU-601 is an excellent choice for a wide array of industrial and commercial applications. Its unique design ensures that it is able to provide overload and short circuit protection in a wide range of situations. It is UL listed and compliant with safety standards and is rated for 100A, 125VAC. The fuse is reliable and cost-effective, making it a great solution for any application that requires reliable protection from electrical hazards.
