Fixed Inductors

An inductor is an electronic component that stores energy in the form of an electromagnetic field when electric current passes through it in a circuit. Sometimes referred to as a ‘coil’, it is similar to an ordinary resistor, except that it has two conductor wires wrapped around a core material such as iron or ferrite. The inductor is a fundamental component in the construction of circuits, used in both analog and digital electronics. It is used in phase-shifters, filters, transducers, transformers, and oscillators. The L-07C47NKV6T Fixed Inductors are an obsolete type of single-layer ceramic base chip inductors made by TDK. They are constructed using a high-purity ceramic core material and two fine-pitched, litz-wired enameled copper wires wound around it, with two high-frequency dielectric layers, and ceramic substrate.The L-07C47NKV6T Fixed Inductors are extremely small and their primary application is in high frequency or wide-band radio frequency (RF) applications. They are also used in EMI suppression, filter networks, broadband RF communication and wireless networking.The working principle of fixed inductors is quite simple. When a current is applied to it, a magnetic field is formed around the inductor, proportional to the current flowing through it. This magnetic field permeates the core material along its length and around its circumference. When the current is removed from the inductor, the magnetic field begins to collapse and induces a voltage in the opposite direction. This voltage opposes the original current and will cause a very brief current surge as the magnetic field continues to collapse. This is known as counter-electromotive force (CEMF). By controlling the amount of current, the amount of flux generated can be controlled. This means that the inductor can be used to filter out unwanted frequencies or create resonance frequencies.The impedance of the inductor also increases with frequency, thus allowing it to act as a filter. At lower frequencies, the inductor only has a low impedance and thus does not affect the signal passing through it. As the frequency increases, the inductance of the inductor also increases and thus introduces an impedance to the signal. This impedes the signal and thus filters out unwanted frequencies.The L-07C47NKV6T Fixed Inductors are small and low cost, making them popular choice for EMI suppression and various RF applications.
