LA-401BN is a multi-digit, 7-segment LED display module which is used in applications to display numerical data and instructions to user such as display reading temperature or time on a digital clock.The LA-401BN consists of 4 self-contained numerical displays. These displays are grouped together on a single platform and can be used for different applications such as digital clocks, counters, timers and frequency indicators to display numerical data. Each of the display segments is made up of an anode and a cathode; the anode is driven by a positive voltage and the cathode by a negative voltage, resulting in an electric current flow through the anode-cathode junction and the LED is turned on. The anode is attached to a segment of each digit and the cathode is identified by symbols to identify each segment. In the LA-401BN all the displays can be turned on simultaneously, providing a bright and visible display of numerical data.The LA-401BN is designed with a maximum of 4-digit display capability. Each of the digits display is mounted on a 0.5 inch multi-colored LED and has a character size of 0.092 inch. The display can be seen from a distance of up to 2 meters. The entire module, including the power supply, measures 4" x 2.6" x 1.6". The module also includes a 7-segment anode and cathode configuration to ensure the displays are visibile from all angles. The anode and cathode voltage supply for each display is 5 volts and 24 volts respectively.The LA-401BN can be connected to a controller circuit or driven by an external MCU (microcontroller unit). It can also be powered by either AC or DC voltage inputs. For AC input, the input voltage range is 85 to 294 volts while for a DC input the voltage range is 4.75 to 40 volts. The module also has a load power of 0.2W per digit. The LA-401BN also comes with an on-board converter circuit that can convert different input signals such as BCD (binary coded decimal), gray or decimal code into digital display and a LED driver which controls the LED intensity.The LA-401BN module is widely used for various applications such as in industrial instrumentation, domestic appliances, automotive applications, and in medical instruments. It is used to display numerical data and instructions on digital clocks, counters, timers, frequency indicators and various electronic displays.
