LDS-CD14RE

The LDS-CD14RE is a light-emitting diode (LED) character and numeric display module with character height of 14.2 millimeters. It is designed for use in a wide range of display applications. It offers an easy-to-read display solution with a wide viewing angle, wide angle and outstanding display performance, due to its superior contrast and color consistency.

The LDS-CD14RE operates with a 5V DC power supply. It offers a wide range of control options, including character, numeric and graphic control. It has two control interfaces: RS232 and TTL serial, and has various communication formats: 8bit, 16bit, 32bit, and 64bit. It supports various serial baud rates, such as 2400bps, 4800bps, 9600bps, 19200bps, and 38400bps. It has built-in adjustable and programmable brightness.

The LDS-CD14RE uses 7-segment characters display as the canvas. Constructed of 18 high-intensity LEDs, each segment of one character is lit with brilliant luminous output. The characters’ 8-dot-matrix display can get it out of 15 segmental display issue. Each segment with three LEDs, which maximize color contrast and luminous output. It allows a wide brightness range, adjustable from 0 to 100. It provides several display effects, such as static display, static+flicker, static+sweep, etc.

The LDS-CD14RE adopts the encapsulated waterproof method, which provides good protection for the module. It is also vibration and impact tolerant, and is suitable for harsh working environment. It has good temperature tolerance, and its working temperature range is from –20℃ to 70℃.

The core of the LDS-CD14RE is the 4×4 dot-matrix character and 8×8 dot-matrix character. When used for character display, the character font of each module is a 16×16 dot-matrix, with the characters arranged in two rows of 8 characters. The LCD display panel consists of two layers of 2×2 dot-matrix character and one layer of 3×3 dot-matrix character. It has a full-scale contrast control and variable contrast, size and dithering. The module has a single AFN (fully-controlled network), which allows it to process information at high speed.

The LDS-CD14RE offers quick response and high brightness with the use of active devices, such as shift registers and display drivers. Its output and display performance is excellent and its power consumption is low. It has selectable power saving modes, such as static-display only and static+flicker.
