Working principle of LFE2-50E-H-EVN

As an FPGA evaluation board, LFE2-50E-H-EVN combines FPGA and embedded processor technologies to enable embedded applications.

In terms of the FPGA part, it includes on board LatticeECP3-50 FPGA which is a low-power, high-performance FPGA for industrial-grade applications. It has up to 120K logic cells and up to 32 Mb of 17-bit wide block memory and up to 8 Mb of 16-bit and 8-bit outer RAMs. Various I/O devices can be interfaced to this FPGA with the help of flexible IOs that are available at the board’s edge.

In terms of the embedded processor part, LFE2-50E-H-EVN integrates an ARM Cortex-M3 RISC processor. This microcontroller allows users to download certain programs for supported SoC applications. It also allows for both C and assembly language programming.
