The LP38502TS-ADJEV is a linear voltage regulator that is designed for use in power supplies, power converters, and power management systems. This product’s output is adjustable from 0.9 V to 5.0 V and provides excellent line and load regulation with wide range of operating temperature from -40°C to 105°C. It also offers a wide input voltage range of 2.5 V to 40 V and supports up to a maximum load of 2A at a 3.3V output. The LP38502TS-ADJEV is available in two different packages and can be delivered with a fixed output voltage or adjustable output voltage.
The linear regulator is designed with an internal power switch, gate drive circuit, MOSFET transistor, compensation components, and an internal output voltage divider. The switch is responsible for allowing the regulated output voltage. The gate drive circuit is used to control the switching operation of the switch and MOSFET transistor. The MOSFET turn on and off the switch with appropriate delay to maintain steady output voltage. The compensation components are used to adjust the response and transient behavior of the regulator. The output voltage divider is used to connect the output voltage pin with the MOSFET control pin.
In operation, the input voltage is regulated and then the difference is used to make the output voltage according to the connected external components.
