The LP38512S-1.8EV Evaluation Board is a low-voltage, low-power linear voltage regulator designed to operate from a single power supply. The LP38512S-1.8EV is a very low-noise, wide-input, low-dropout linear voltage regulator with extremely low quiescent current. It is designed to maintain a stable 1.8V output in low voltage applications, such as portable electronics, such as cellular phones and PAs, and other applications. The board is ideal for design, testing, and evaluation of the IC.

The LP38512S-1.8EV evaluation board includes an adjustable input voltage of 1.2V to 6.25V and a toggle switch for selecting either the low-noise LDO regulator or the constant voltage supply (CVS) configuration. The CVS configuration enables constant voltage to be regulated down to 0.75V to provide long-lasting supply for low-power applications. In addition, the board includes short-circuit and overtemperature protection.

The LP38512S-1.8EV evaluation board is designed to deliver a steady 1.8V output in a wide range of conditions. The board contains an integrated LDO regulator, a power supply supervisor, a low-noise linear voltage regulator, and an adjustable power switch that offers protection against short-circuit and overtemperature conditions.

The LP38512S-1.8EV linear voltage regulator provides a low-noise, wide-input, low-dropout linear voltage regulator solution. It offers an adjustable current limit, adjustable short-circuit current limit, and a programmable delay timer. The low-dropout voltage range spans from 0.75V to as low as 0.2V. In addition, the IC features an adjustable soft-start that limits inrush current. Low quiescent current is engineered to reduce supply current draw and conserve battery life

In order to achieve the highest power efficiency, the LP38512S-1.8EV includes on-chip synchronous rectifier and low-ripple low-dropout regulator. The LP38512S-1.8EV also includes two level of output voltage accuracy regulation. The first level is an adjustable 0.5% accuracy and the second level is a 0.1% accuracy.

The LP38512S-1.8EV is designed to meet the tightest requirements for noise immunity, power sequencing, and thermal management. The board uses the latest MOSFET technology to reduce losses and minimize output ripple. In addition, the board includes a number of features for protection, control, and monitoring.
