LSH-1-01-B float level sensors are instruments used to measure the level of a liquid media in a container or vessel. By using the buoyancy force of the media, they provide analog or digital signals up to two independent alarms. The float level sensors are ideal for water and wastewater applications where the media can be contaminated by suspended solids.Float level sensors use a float suspended on a guide cage or cable with a magnetic top, often referred to as a reed switch. When the float is at the level of the media, the reed switch is energized and it then produces a current from the alternating current system. This current is then sent back to the level sensor to indicate the level of the media. Float level sensors can also be used to measure liquid heights, as well as providing two independent alarm outputs when a pre-determined level is reached. The working principle of the float level sensors is based on the fact that, when a float is placed in a medium, it experiences buoyancy or lift force. This force is equal to the weight of the material displaced by the float, multiplied by the specific gravity of the medium. The resulting force acts on the float, propelling it towards the surface of the medium. As the float rises towards the surface, it passes a sensor which then sends a signal indicating the level of the medium. The advantages of using float level sensors are their durability and reliability. They are able to withstand many harsh environments, including high temperatures, and are less prone to fouling due to not having any exposed parts, like probes. They offer fast response times, with the time taken to measure the level of the medium typically around 10 to 30 seconds. Furthermore, they have digital capabilities, allowing for advanced signal processing and automated control of the medium. In conclusion, the LSH-1-01-B float level sensors are an ideal solution for water and wastewater applications or any environment where the media can be contaminated by suspended solids. They are easy to install, provide fast response times, and are extremely reliable and durable. They offer two independent alarm outputs, are able to measure liquid heights, and have digital capabilities for additional signal processing and automation.
