LT1945EMS#PBF is a self-contained high frequency step-down DC/DC switching regulator with 3A internal switch, integrated compensation, and 220kHz constant frequency current mode control. As a DC-DC switching voltage regulator, LT1945EMS#PBF is designed to provide variable output voltages from inputs up to +36V. It offers very good efficiency, excellent line and load regulation, and fast dynamic response to load transients.

The LT1945EMS#PBF contains a high efficiency voltage regulator, an oscillator, and a fault protection circuit all in a single chip. It uses a lightweight, high-speed current mode pulse width modulation (PWM) technique to provide very stable output voltages, while minimizing output voltage ripple. The switching frequency is derived from an internal oscillator and is adjustable from 100kHz to 220kHz through an external resistor.

The LT1945EMS#PBF has an internal 3A switch and 4.4V start-up voltage. It also provides internal thermal shutdown for over temperature protection, and an output voltage disconnect feature for under voltage protection. It is suited for a wide range of applications such as laptop computers, ac/dc adapters, industrial control systems and other DC/DC applications.

LT1945EMS#PBF has an internal power saving control circuit that allows the output to enter light load state to reduce switching losses. This circuit also maintains stable regulation when the load is light, providing better load regulation and lower output voltage ripple. In addition, the LT1945EMS#PBF provides under voltage lockout (UVLO) and output discharge to ensure safe and reliable operation.

The LT1945EMS#PBF features an integrated feedback loop which provides accurate voltage regulation. The voltage mode control circuit is designed to minimize output voltage ripple and load transients. With an external compensation network and external resistors, the regulator can be optimized for different applications. It also features an input-output voltage differential of up to 2.5V for improved efficiency.
