The LTC1542CDD#PBF is a high speed single-channel current feedback amplifier that excels in providing superior performance in audio and high end video applications. Operating over a wide bandwidth, from dc to several MHz, it is an ideal amplifier for driving active transducers and electro-acoustic speakers in low voltage, low power, portable or battery operated applications. It offers industry leading open-loop wide-bandwidth, fast slew rate, and low distortion performance. Working Principle
The LTC1542CDD#PBF is dependent on a current-feedback principle in order to achieve its excellent performance. This means that the signal being amplified is converted from voltage to current form before the actual amplification is done. To operate the amplifier, two supplies are required: a positive and a negative supply. The LTC1542CDD#PBF is able to operate directly from ±2.7 to ±36 volts, or a single supply of 5.4 to ±36 volts is also allowed. A current-feedback design also eliminates the need for an external level translator, allowing the LTC1542CDD#PBF to accept differential input signals. The same differential inputs can handle a wide range of input voltage levels, including single-ended input voltages of up to ±3 volts.
The core of the LTC1542CDD#PBF is a unity-gain stable differential amplifier, capable of delivering excellent linearity and low-noise performance without any external components.
