The LTC2620IGN#TRPBF is a family of 18-bit, low power, voltage output Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) with multiple output ranges that offer 1-LF Nadvance performance. These devices feature a precision reference offering 0.05% initial accuracy and low reference temperature drift, providing improved precision and true differential outputs. They operate over a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply and communicate via an SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE-compatible 3-wire interface over the temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
The LTC2620IGN#TRPBF devices feature an internal power-on reset circuit, which ensures that the DAC output powers up at 0V when powered on and held in reset. Additionally, the output will power down and will remain in a low power state whenever the Vcc supply is off.
The DACs of the LTC2620IGN#TRPBF family support 8-, 10-, 12-, 14-, and 16-wire modes and provide eight different output ranges selectable by a single-bit (RANGE) input. This allows each DAC output to be scaled to different user-defined ranges, providing a solution that minimizes the need for external resistors.
The LTC2620IGN#TRPBF devices feature a power-down mode, which reduces the power consumption of the device. This can be activated with the STBY/SYNC pin. The STBY/SYNC pin can also be used to save power. The SYNC function synchronizes the RD signal so the part can identify when to enter its low power mode. This ensures that the device can properly start while in its low power mode, eliminating the need to recalibrate before using the device.
The LTC2620IGN#TRPBF is well-suited for applications requiring high accuracy and low power consumption in data acquisition systems, industrial control systems, medical instrumentation, energy management, automotive and railway systems and other precision systems.
The LTC2620IGN#TRPBF digital-to-analog converter provides accurate analog voltage or current outputs with 18 bits of resolution. The device offers a guaranteed monotonicity and no missing codes over the full operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. The output range is user-selectable. The LTC2620IGN#TRPBF is also available in low-profile packages.
The LTC2620IGN#TRPBF operates with a 3-wire, SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE-compatible interface, allowing complete control of the DACs. Commands are provided for writing to the DAC Register, initializing the DACs to midscale, and reading back the power-on reset state and the current DAC codes.
The device has an internal power-on reset circuit that ensures the DAC outputs are 0V when the device powers up or is held in reset. The LTC2620IGN#TRPBF also features an output power-down mode, which reduces the power consumption of the device. This can be activated with the STBY/SYNC pin.
Additionally, the LTC2620IGN#TRPBF features an accurate internal reference that offers 0.05% initial accuracy and low reference temperature drift. This is combined with low power consumption of only 250µA typ and 100nA max in normal operation, making it an ideal solution for precision systems applications.
