Data Acquisition - Digital to Analog Converters (DAC)A Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) is a device which converts digital signals in to an analog output. The LTC2641CDD-14#PBF is a dual 16-bit Register programming DAC with integrated voltage reference that provides excellent performance in both industrial and automotive applications. It is optimized to provide low power, fast write/update and accurate output.The LTC2641CDD-14#PBF has two 16-bit channels and is available in a 10-pin DFN package. It has a voltage reference on board and is capable of both uni- and bipolar output with a wide range of gain settings. It has a low power consumption of 2.6mW and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C making it suitable for a range of applications.The device is programmed using a serial 3-wire interface which can be used in 8-bit or 16-bit formats. The user can program the gain, voltage reference and output voltage for each output. It is fully programmable via the SPI serial bus making it easy to use and configure. The LTC2641CDD is also protected from out-of-range conditions, eliminating the need for external signal conditioning and circuitry.The LTC2641CDD-14#PBF can be used in a variety of applications including industrial control, automotive and medical. In industrial applications, it can be used for controlling process temperatures or power supplies. In automotive applications, it can be used to control motor speed or power steering systems. In medical applications, it can be used to control a variety of medical equipment such as blood pressure monitors and patient monitors.The LTC2641CDD-14#PBF is designed to operate with a wide range of supply voltages. It can be powered with a 5V, 12V, or 24V supply voltage. With a supply voltage of 5V, it can provide an output voltage between -10V and 10V. The comparator compares the digital value with a reference voltage to generate an analog voltage.
