Working Principle
The LTC2847CUHF#PBF operates as an electrical bridge across one differential pair of CAN transceivers, allowing it to transmit and receive digital signals over a single electrical interface. The differential pair will provide an output voltage that is a function of the input voltage. The internal ESD protection allows a maximum line transients up to ±8kV air and ±1.5kV contact discharge.
The LTC2847CUHF#PBF features a high-impedance status (HIZ) mode to reduce the power consumption. It also provides an active pre-emphasis to ensure that the output signals remain robust even under harsh ambient conditions. The transceiver supports two distinctive features, a Transmission Delay (Tsc) and a CAN protocol controller.
The Transmission Delay provides a set time delay on the output signal generated by the device. This is to ensure that all the data is transmitted after the output signal has reached its maximum level. The CAN protocol controller performs the synchronization between nodes and performs data integrity check on all the messages transferred.
