The LTC2862HDD-1#TRPBF, a part of Linear Technology Corporation, is an integrated medical-grade isolated, unidirectional, half-duplex bidirectional RS-485/RS-422 transceiver that provides guaranteed integrated galvanic isolation of up to 5kV RMS for 1 min. It has flexible operating voltage range, low pulse width distort and low propagation delay. The LTC2862HDD-1#TRPBF is suitable for industrial and home automation, medical instrumentation, and data acquisition systems requiring isolated communication links, isolated power supply and isolated diagnostics monitoring.
Application Field:
The LTC2862HDD-1#TRPBF is an ideal single-chip solution for wide variety of applications requiring isolation and communication over long cables such as industrial automation, medical instrumentation, and environmental monitoring. The relatively low power consumption and small packaging size of the device make it ideal for space-constrained applications and for applications where power consumption needs to be kept to a minimum.
The integrated isolation technology allows it to provide high reliable communication even in noisy environments, where transmission lines are exposed to various kinds of interference or common-mode transients. It can be used in applications with up to four receivers and up to four transmitters or to interface two different networks. It is also used in applications requiring isolation and transmission of data simultaneously on both directions.
Working Principle:
The LTC2862HDD-1#TRPBF employs an advanced isolation technology that provides high levels of reliability for digital communication. The device is built using two layers of isolation, digital and magnetic. This technology enables the device to provide bidirectional communication over a digital isolation barrier with a minimum propagation delay and no pulse width distortion. The device also features low operating voltage range that allows it to be used in a variety of power environments. The LTC2862HDD-1#TRPBF has two transceivers, one for each direction of communication. Each transceiver is fully independent and has its own differential inputs and outputs, enabling it to be used to interface two different networks.
