The LTC2996HDD#PBF is a Solid State Temperature Sensor and Thermostat developed by Linear Technology. It is a highly-integrated digital temperature-monitoring and control IC optimized for temperature measurement and temperature control. It contains a complete temperature monitoring system with its own temperature sensor, temperature algorithm, temperature controller, and digital interface. It provides multiple temperature readings at multiple points, as well as hot and cold temperature control, allowing control of thermal environments with accuracy and precision.The LTC2996HDD#PBF is designed for use in general industrial applications. It provides accurate temperature readings and is able to monitor temperatures from -40°C to +150°C. It is capable of controlling temperatures from -30°C to +125°C. The IC can be configured to provide multiple temperature readings or to provide a single temperature measurement. It can be set to measure and control multiple temperatures simultaneously.The temperature sensing element of the LTC2996HDD#PBF is an on-board temperature-dependent resistor (MERSENNE-type thermistor). This is a thermistor which contains an active material that responds to temperature. As the temperature changes, the active material changes its resistance, and this change in resistance is measured by the temperature-sensing circuit in the IC. The IC also contains a temperature alarm/latch. The temperature alarm/latch is used to detect if the temperature exceeds the limits of the pre-programmed temperature settings (either high or low). If the temperature surpasses the pre-programmed settings, the IC sends out an alarm signal. The alarm will remain active until the temperature drops below the pre-programmed settings.The LTC2996HDD#PBF also features removable digital outputs with control accuracy of ±4°C. The digital outputs can be used for monitoring or other temperature measurement applications. This IC also features an adjustable hysteresis range that allows for improved accuracy in temperature measurements. The adjustable hysteresis range can be set to a maximum of 10°C to ensure accurate readings.The LTC2996HDD#PBF is an advanced, reliable, and accurate temperature-monitoring and control IC that is ideal for use in industrial temperature-control applications.
