The LTC3260MPMSE#TRPBF is a monolithic synchronous DC/DC buck controller that can be used for applications power management, including power for microprocessors, DDR memory, FPGAs and digital core logic. This device is offered in a Pb-free (RoHS compliant) MSOP-10E package and provides output currents up to 4A, adjustable output voltage and high efficiency. This switch-mode power regulator belongs to a family of DC/DC switching regulators that is designed to offer an adjustable synchronous buck DC output voltage and can switch between 100kHz and 1.5MHz.

This device from Linear Technology Corporation (LTC) features the Burst Mode operation that combines Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) and Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) modes for ultra-low quiescent current (IQ) in light-load conditions. It helps to reduce the operating current during steady state down to 0.7A, enhancing the efficiency of the system by offering a quiescent current lower than conventional PWM modes. Finally, the current limit is set by an external resistor connected from pin CurrentSense to GND. After the control circuits, the output voltage can be adjusted to the desired level by the PANIC pin and the voltage error amplifier.
