Combining a high efficiency internal power MOSFET switch, with a 200mV typical reference voltage and current mode modulation, the LTC3621EDCB-5#TRPBF is capable of efficiently supplying up to 3A adjustable and 0.6A fixed output currents. The device operates at a fixed frequency of 1.2MHz and provides multiple feature such as over current protection, current mode control and thermal shutdown protection.

3 Working Principle of LTC3621EDCB-5#TRPBF

The LTC3621EDCB-5#TRPBF is a synchronous step-down converter employing an internal 180mΩ N-channel MOSFET switch. This series of switching regulator relies on two main parts, the Error Amplifier and the PWM Controller, to operate normally and meet design objectives. The Error Amplifier, a type of comparator, monitors the voltage set point by comparing a reference voltage to the actual output voltage and informs the PWM Controller when a difference is detected.
