Pin Layout

The Working Principle
The device achieves high efficiency by operating a synchronous buck topology that requires synchronous bursts of high and low. The output is regulated through an external resistor divider to define the feed-back level of the regulator. The LTC3626IUDC#TRPBF switches current from input to output across two N-channel MOSFETs connected in a parallel configuration. When the P-channel MOSFET is on, current flows from input to output, and when the N-channel MOSFET is on, it flows in the opposite direction. The P-channel MOSFET is controlled by the FB pin, allowing the output voltage to be regulated. A charge pump provides the necessary gate drive voltage to the MOSFETs to ensure that they are turned on and off properly. It also provides the necessary gate charge to pull the switches off when the output current is ramped down.
When the input voltage drops, the LTC3626IUDC#TRPBF\'s Soft-Start and Output Discharge features allow for a smooth response and provide a clean output voltage waveform. The Soft-Start function ensures that the device comes out of standard operation into an active soft-start decreasing the operating stresses from transients.
Additionally, the REF pin provides an adjustable slew rate control so that the output voltage does not increase or decrease too quickly during transient operations. This feature provides for a controlled and expected response to the changing load and input voltage conditions.
Output Power
