The LTD-4708P belongs to the subset of display modules, namely LED character and numeric. In essence, it is an 8-character display module developed by Lumitex. It uses a single 5x7 matrix for displaying 8 digits of data. It is compatible with many microcontrollers, such as PIC, AVR, and other popular development boards. And so, with the suggestion of `TOP view panel`, it can be used for applications such as digital weighing scale, process controllers and system development.
The functioning principle behind the screen enables it to display numbers from 0-9. The digits can be displayed in either numerical or alpha-numeric format. In addition, an internal clock enables it to automatically update the displayed digits. This mode of updating the display is enabled by a Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI) encoded algorithm.
The LTD-4708P is aware of the ON-OFF states of the display. In addition, it also controls the brightness of the display. It is supplied with three power saving parameters - standby, dimming and blanking, which helps in managing the power consumption of the display.
The LTD-4708P operates on 17VDC power source and has an excellent power supply regulation. Its operating temperature range is -20℃ to +70℃ and its current consumption is in the range of 10 to 20mA. It measures approximately 94.5 × 24.5 × 11mm. Its weight being only 15g makes it suitable for suspended applications.
The LED screen’s operating voltage range from 3.3 VDC to 17VDC. Its integral LED driver provides an adequate bias for the LED\'s proper functioning. In addition, additional measures such as reverse polarity protection, electrostatic protection and over discharge protection help in ensuring its safe operation.
In essence, the LTD-4708P is an 8-character LED numeric display module which can be used in applications requiring digital weight indication, process control, system development. It is supplied with in-built clock, power saving options and other safety feature, which make it a suitable display solution for many industrial and commercial applications.
