Working Principle

The LTM4644IY-1#PBF is a highly integrated monolithic, non-isolated, low-voltage/high-current DC-DC converter. It is a step-down type DC-DC converter, capable of delivering up to 8A of output current at a wide input voltage range (from 4.5V to 75V). It is a synchronous constant-current/constant-voltage (CC/CV) type power converter designed to achieve high efficiency.The LTM4644IY-1#PBF contains two efficient and low-ripple synchronous power mosfets, operating in an interleaved configuration, along with control and protection circuitry. The current-mode control architecture minimizes the number of external components. The input voltage is initially buck-converted to the output voltage, and the output current is regulated by an internal reference voltage. The switching frequency is adjustable between 200kHz and 1MHz.

Protection Features

The LTM4644IY-1#PBF contains a number of protection features. The input voltage range is protected by a reverse voltage protection circuit. The switching mosfets are protected from over-current by an internal current limit circuit. The output voltage is protected by an over-voltage protection circuit.
