The PMIC voltage regulator DC DC switching regulator LTM4661IY#PBF is a high efficiency, highly programmable Synchronous Step-down DC/DC conversion module, originally intended for industrial and medical applications. With a wide 6V to 32V input range, the LTM4661IY#PBF can support a variety of battery cells. The regulator utilizes a 4.5V to 16V wide output voltage range, which the low output voltage can be addressed by controlling the FB pin. The device also integrates a four-phase interleaving buck regulator controller and power switches, four inductors and all the necessary passives. It offers up to 95% efficiency and up to 7A continuous output current, and supports 100mV to 1.2V adjustable output voltage. It features a high 0.6V (typ) dropout voltage, and contains a fault detect (Fault output) pin with power good indicator, power enable control, current compression mode adjustment and internal switching frequency adjustment.The device supports both continuous and discontinuous conduction mode(CCM and DCM) operations. The ultra-flexible architecture of the LTM4661IY#PBF allows users to set the power of each output channel separately and configure the frequency of each output channel separately. In CCM mode, the device is well capable to achieve high efficiency in light load as well as heavy load conditions, where in DCM mode the device offers an added benefit of higher minimum load current threshold for power saving.The LTM4661IY#PBF PMIC voltage regulator DC DC switching regulator supports both constant frequency (250kHz to 890kHz) and variable frequency (30kHz to 890kHz) control, offers fast transient response and constant frequency ripple shaping mode. It also offers in-depth protections such as cycle-by-cycle current monitoring, overvoltage protection, DCM mode overcurrent protection, output short-circuit protection, and streamline layout design, as well as thermal shutdown and output under voltage protection.In addition, the device is also available in an 8-lead MSOP datasheet, making it the ideal solution for today’s high-density, high-performance and low profile applications.
