The LTV-355T-A is an isolated transistor output optoisolator which provides low emissions and improved environmental performance. It is suitable for many applications, such as power line noise suppression, industrial interface, and safety or home automation control.
This optoisolator is a hybrid IC composed of an infrared light emitting diode optically coupled to a photo-voltaic transistor output. The transistor is a field effect type, which is controlled by changes in the intensity of light outputted from the infrared diode.
When a logic signal is applied to the diode, it produces an LED light output which is received by the phototransistor. This generates a current flow in the output transistor which is amplified by the integrated circuit.
The device has a high IMD immunity up to 20kHz and allows the user to select either the noise filter ON/OFF for AC or DC power line noise filtering. The LTV-355T-A is designed so that an external capacitor on the control line can be used to set the ON/OFF thresholds for noise filter control.
Moreover, the device offers users a low profile package, a minimum current transfer ratio of 250% and requires a logic input signal in the range of 1.5v to 5v. It operates over a wide temperature range of -40°C to +105°C and is 100% SOLT (Safety of Lightning Test) tested for use in lightning prone areas.
