Application Field

Working Principle

The LTV-815S-TA consists of an LED and a phototransistor. The LED emits light when a current is applied to it and the phototransistor detects the presence of this light. If the LED emits light, the phototransistor\'s base current will increase, causing the collector-emitter current to flow through it. When the LED does not emit light, the phototransistor\'s base current decreases, resulting in the collector-emitter current not flowing.

The LTV-815S-TA is designed for both normal and reverse operation. In normal operation, the LED is forward-biased and the phototransistor conductance increases. In reverse operation, the LED is reverse-biased and the phototransistor conductance decreases.
