The MAX4899EETE+T is a p-channel ESD protection switch designed to protect circuits against ESD transients up to 8KV. The switchfeatures an ESD protection device which acts as a high-impedance isolation barrier between the inputs and output, preventing any ESD signals from passing through. The device also has a very low on-resistance of less than 5 ohms, making it ideal for switching heavy loads.

The MAX4899EETE+T is built on a SiGe process and incorporates a switching amplifier. This switching amplifier is used to provide an automatic control voltage for the ESD protection circuit. The MAX4899EETE+T also includes a low-impedance drive transistor, which can be used in either automatic or manual mode.
