PMIC - Thermal Management is one of the main areas which a PMIC needs to address.The MAX6639ATE+ is an example of a PMIC designed for thermal management. The MAX6639ATE+ works by sensing the temperature of the surrounding environment and controlling the fan and its speed accordingly. It uses an internal voltage reference to provide accurate temperature measurements and uses a programmable temperature trip point to control fan speed. This trip point can be set to the desired temperature in order to control the cooling of the system efficiently without the need for external control.
