The MAX6960EVKIT evaluation board (EV kit) is a low-cost platform for evaluating the tiny footprint, low-cost MAX6960 6-channel LED driver. It delivers performance features such as ultra-low power consumption and precision intensity control, while providing a high-brightness output. The MAX6960EVKIT allows the user to quickly set up and development, testing, and verification of the MAX6960IC in his/her embedded systems. The evaluation board is well suited to creating applications like LED strips, displays, automotive lighting, and outdoor lighting.

The MAX6960EVKIT uses a compact form factor, measuring only 3x2.7 inches, including components necessary to control up to 6 channels of LEDs. The MAX6960 is capable of driving up to 6 channels of LEDs independently from a single supply. It supports flexible brightness control options, such as pulse-width modulation (PWM), current source, and voltage source. For PWM-based brightness control, the board contains a pot that can be used to vary the brightness of the LEDs in steps.

The MAX6960EVKIT uses I²C communication protocol for communication. The user needs to interface the board to his/her microcontroller or commercial development boards. The board is designed to provide an easy-to-use platform for evaluating how well the MAX6960 performs when driving LEDs in different environments. The board can be used to evaluate the following features of the MAX6960:
