MAX848ESE+ is a special purpose voltage regulator from Maxim Integrated Products. It is a micropower low dropout (LDO) regulator with shutdown function. In the first mode, the output voltage (VOUT) is regulated by charging and discharging the internal charge--pump capacitor. The internal charge pump increases the output voltage when the input voltage (VIN) is higher than VOUT + 300 mV, and reduces the output voltage when the input voltage is lower than VOUT + 300 mV.
In the second mode, the output voltage (VOUT) is regulated by the combination of the linear regulator and the internal charge pump. The linear regulator increases the output voltage when the input voltage is higher than VOUT + 300 mV and reduces the output voltage when the input voltage is lower than VOUT + 300 mV. The internal charge pump increases the output voltage when the input voltage is lower than the output voltage.
In the third mode, the output voltage (VOUT) is regulated by operating in linear mode only. This mode improves both efficiency and noise suppression.
