MAX860CSA+T

The MAX860CSA+T is an efficient, high-performance step-down DC-DC switching regulator. It consists of two integrated circuits switching regulators, the MAX860CSA and the MAX86CE, in a tiny QFN package. It is designed to provide a regulated output voltage of up to 4V from an input voltage of up to 22V. The MAX860CSA+T comes with a choice of the popular TPS800 series control frequency multiplexer (CFM) for a wide range of operating conditions and efficiency. It supports both synchronous and non-synchronous rectifiers, enabling it to operate as either a buck (step-down) regulator or a boost (step-up) regulator. It also offers programmable output voltage and current limits.

The MAX860CSA+T is ideal for applications such as high-efficiency power supplies, mobile and portable devices, industrial, commercial and residential power converters, and wireless applications. The operating principle of the MAX860CSA+T is straightforward. The controller regulates the output voltage by sensing the voltage at the output, and adjusting the duty cycle of the switch accordingly. This is accomplished by switching rapidly between proper voltages, thus controlling the voltage and current of the output. The oscillator frequency of the MAX860CSA+T is programmable, allowing the user to adjust the switching frequency as necessary.
