The MAX860IUA+ is an integrated switching regulator comprising an on-board controller, power switch, power MOSFET, and gate trigger driver ideal for 3V to 5.5V low power (up to 0.3A) DC-DC converter applications. It offers a wide range of features, including internal synchronous rectification, coupled inductor compensation, selectable fixed SW frequency, synchronizable low side switch drive voltage, fast switching transition, and over current protection.

The application field of MAX860IUA+ includes point-of-load (POL) converters and step-up (buck-boost) converters that require wide input-voltage range and fast transient response. The POL with its internal architectural layout enhances system stability and reduces EMI, it is typically used as voltage regulator, driver power FET, fault converter, and power management integrated circuit in portable devices, industrial instruments, and consumer products.

The power switch of MAX860IUA+ features both synchronous MOSFET rectification, as well as non-synchronous rectification. It has a selectable fixed switching frequency that can be set between 200 kHz and 1.5 MHz. The Low Side Switch Drive Voltage (LSSDV) option allows for synchronization with another external LOX switch, or for a fixed on time to be set for minimum losses during synchronous switching.
