Each channel of the device incorporatesprotection circuits as well as independent enable and STATUS signal pins. The device also contains a wide range of features such as, adjustable UVLO, cycle-by-cycle current limit and fold-back operation for over-current protection.
The two main features of the MAX8632ETI+ are its low-noise operation and its versatile, wide-range voltage loop architecture. The device has a wide, programmable range and flexibility which allows the device to step down and regulate a wide range of input voltages. The device also has low noise operation and low-jitter oscillator, which enable accurate and precise monitoring of the output voltage. As the device is powered by a low-noise power source, the device can regulate output voltage accurately and stably.
The MAX8632ETI+ employs an Analog-to-digital (A/D) converter that is used to continuously monitor and adjust the output voltage. The A/D converter is coupled with independent voltage references and a RMS (root mean square) current limit in order to achieve reliable and precise control of the output voltage. The internal soft start circuit ensures smooth and reliable power up and power down operations. The device also features an under-voltage lock-out (UVLO), cycle-by-cycle current limit with power good output indicator that can be used to alert external circuitry in case of an overload or over-current condition.
The MAX8632ETI+ is a fully integrated, high-efficiency, buck regulator which operates at a switching frequency of 2MHz.
