This board features two configurations, one with a 400kHz (EC/ED) frequency of operation and the other with a 300kHz (BC/BD) frequency of operation. The board also features short-circuit tolerant and adjustable PWM/PFM switching frequency.The MAX8643EVKIT+ evaluation board uses an off-board DC power source to supply the MAX8643. This board features a 12V, 6A power input, and 3.3V, 3A power output for portable systems. The power input can be used to drive DC motors, relays, lamps, and heating elements. It also has a 0.1A continuous current output for LED lighting applications.The MAX8643 also enables designers to take advantage of the PFM/PWM mode switching and provides a way to achieve higher efficiency for a given output power level.
