Figure 1 shows the block diagrams of the MAX8667ETEAB+ PMIC. The MAX8667ETEAB+ consists of an integrated power conversion subsystem and an I2C/SPI interface. The power conversion subsystem consists of a buck switching regulator, a linear regulator, and a dedicated ADC for monitoring purposes.The MAX8667ETEAB+ employs a buck switching regulator with synchronous rectification for high efficiency over a wide range of load currents. The synchronous buck regulator operates in pulse-width-modulated (PWM) mode for low noise operation, and is capable of operating up to 1.2MHz with a 10.2V input voltage. The switching frequency can be programmed via I2C interface using one of the two programming pins.The integrated linear regulator provides high accuracy over a wide input voltage range, and is capable of delivering up to 300mA of output current. The linear regulator has a programmable output voltage range from 0.8V to 5.5V, and can be configured for either dedicated operation or in combination with the buck regulator.The power distribution logic block manages the sequential start-up of the linear and switching regulators for independent operation or for combination operation.
