MAX8728EVKIT is a complete power supply system featuring both DC/DC and AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS components. It includes an isolated DC-DC converter operating from a low-voltage input of 2.5V to 5.5V and supplying up to 6A to outputs of 3.3V, 5V, or 6V; an AC-DC (Off-Line) converter with a wide input range of 90-264VAC, capable of supplying up to 10A; a high-precision analog current sensing circuit; and an output voltage adjustable from 1.2V to 5.5V. This evaluation kit also includes a 5V auxiliary power supply, adjustable voltage and current limits, and over-temperature, overload, and over-voltage protection.

MAX8728EVKIT application fields are mainly industrial power supplies, LED lighting, medical instruments, set top boxes, solar and wind power, audio/video power, and other power supply applications. It also supports high-power PoE (Power over Ethernet).It features low no-load input current, high efficiency, soft-start, short-circuit protection, over-temperature protection, and other protection.

MAX8728EVKIT works with Maxim’s advanced CUK controller for efficient, low-cost, power conversion applications. The CUK controller is a high-precision, high-performance, non-isolated DC-DC step-down converter. It provides high conversion efficiency and excellent load and line regulation in a small package. It supports important features such as input current limiting, analog output current sensing, adjustable soft-start control, and remote on/off input. Its output voltage can be adjusted from 1.2V to 5.5V in 10mV steps.
