Maxim\'s MAX8952AEWE+T DC-DC switching regulator is a voltage-mode synchronous buck regulator with integrated 45mΩ MOSFETs, an internal compensation network, and an adjustable soft-start function. This is a high-performance step-down regulator offering rigid output voltage accurate to ±0.75% and low-output noise, while driving its output at up to 2A per phase. It also offers low dropout voltage, low total current quiescent current, fast transient response, and simple external loop compensation. The MAX8952AEWE+T is extremely flexible, adjustable, and reliable. It is designed to handle a wide range of DC-DC applications with input voltage range of 4.5V to 17V and output voltage range of 0.7V to 13V. It has an adjustable switching frequency range of 200kHz to 1.2MHz and adjustable gate-drive current of 10mA to 30mA.The MAX8952AEWE+T makes use of a voltage-mode synchronous buck topology, which converts a DC input voltage to a lower level DC output voltage. It operates by using a pulse width modulation (PWM) technique, where the duty cycle is adjusted to regulate the output voltage. The PWM signal is applied to the low side (N-channel) power MOSFET ideally in anti-phase to the high side (P-channel) drive. The PWM signal is generated by comparing the output voltage to an internal reference voltage. When the output voltage deviates from the set level, the duty cycle is changed to adjust the output voltage accordingly.The great advantage of the MAX8952AEWE+T is the inclusion of closed loop voltage regulation, making the device more responsive and efficient in regulating the output voltage.
