The MAX9172ESA+ is a member of the MAX9170/MAX9172 devices, which are high-density family of integrated 6GHz gigabit serialiser-deserialiser (SERDES) transceivers. Specifically, the MAX9172ESA+ is a low-power, low-latency integrated SERDES transceiver with an integrated cable-equaliser and pre-emphasis that supports a wide range of data-rates. This device is specifically designed to increase the data rate on high-speed applications by allowing the use of standard cables with longer cable lengths.

The MAX9172ESA+ provides three key features: a cable-equalizer, transimpedance pre-emphasis, and low-latency transmit and receive paths.
