MAX9723DETE+TCJ6 is an integrated audio amplifier well suited for flat panel displays and notebooks applications in the consumer and computing markets. It is designed to drive up to 1.5 Watt of continuous average power into stereo 8-ohm loads with less than 0.1% THD+N. Working Principle

The MAX9723DETE+TCJ6 audio amplifier contains a master IC and stereo output IC package with two internal amplifier systems. The first system is a digital-to-analog conversion (DAC) amplifier and the second is a digital-inverted amplifier. Each amplifier has a separate gain control for individual amplification of the left and right channels.

The DAC amplifier takes a digital audio signal and provides low-noise amplification, filtering and line-level outputs. This amplifier is able to provide up to 1.5W of total output power with a 0.1% THD+N rating. The second amplifier is an inverted, high-efficiency class D audio amplifier with a Class AB output stage.

The device also incorporates a standby control pin which controls the power of the amplifier circuitry. When the pin is pulled low, the amplifier is put into standby mode and only a low power supply current of 10µA (typical) is needed. When the pin is pulled high, the amplifier is enabled.
