The MAX9768BETG+ is an integrated, low-power mono Class-AB amplifier from Maxim Integrated Products. It is specifically designed to drive speakers with an output power of up to 40 milliwatts into 16-Ohm loads and is uniquely suited to drive both traditional 1.8V and newer 2.8V audio sources with a maximum voltage swing of either 2Vrms or 3.2Vrms. This topology includes two amplifying transistors (NPN or PNP) that are connected in a “push-pull” configuration. This configuration ensures that the amplifier can accurately reproduce both positive and negative audio signals without additional gain distortion. Moreover, the transistors have a common collector output stage that allows for a highly efficient conversion of current to voltage output. This enables the amplifier to maximize its efficiency while maintaining a low noise floor and excellent output performance.Additionally, the MAX9768BETG+ also incorporates two amplifying transistors with advanced dynamic biasing, which helps ensure a low temperature coefficient and greater stability. Furthermore, the amplifier is designed with integrated clipping and current limiting circuits to protect against output transients and overcurrent conditions.
