Working Principle

The MAX9932EUA+T consists of three chains; the antenna interface, the signal conditioning, and the conversion and detection. The signal chain consists of the antenna, which is fed into a low-pass filter and then amplified by the low-noise amplifier. The amplified signal is then passed through a wideband analog-to-digital converter for signal digitizing and conversion to determine the signal power level.The signal power is measured either by a peak detector or by the RMS detector. For 4G and 5G mobile networks, the peak detector is used for maximum value measurements over a period of time. The RMS detector is used in combination with the power amplifier’s gain, allowing for accurate signal power measurements. The measured signal is then collected and transmitted to a microcontroller or other system over an I2S digital audio interface.The MAX9932EUA+T also features multiple power management modes to reduce the system’s power consumption. Energy saving measures include features like low power operation, fast reset, sleep mode, and adjustable output current.
