Ultrasonic receivers and transmitters are types of communication devices which use mechanical waves instead of electrical signals to transmit data. The MB7369-101 is a single-chip ultrasonic transceiver, capable of transmitting and receiving ultrasonic signals. It is mainly used in remote controlling applications like automatic networking, home appliance control, robotics, medical instrumentation and building security.

The MB7369-101 contains an amplifier, modulation circuit, transmitting circuit, frequency generator circuit, receiving circuit, detecting circuit, and a data processor. It operates at 32~64 kHz frequenc ies and is powered by a 5V power source. The MB7369-101 utilizes frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology to evaluate the incoming ultrasonic signals for data identification.

To transmit messages, the MB7369-101 first encodes audio signals into ultrasonic signals. The frequency generator circuit then modulates the signals to transfer them into the ultrasonic frequency band. The transmitting circuit amplifies the signals and sends them out as ultrasonic signals. The amplitude and frequency of the ultrasonic signal received by the receiver can be adjusted to optimize the communication process.

The receiver of the MB7369-101 first filters the incoming signal from the ultrasonic frequency band. The frequency generator circuit then demodulates the signal and sends it to the amplifier for further processing. The detecting circuit evaluates the incoming signal and determines whether any useful data is available. If yes, the data processor would process the information for storage or further transmission.

The MB7369-101 is ideal for applications which require short-distance communication or require wireless transmission of audio signals without disruption caused by ambient noise. It is also capable of sending signals through walls and other obstacles while consuming small amount of power.
