The MC4-5007KE resistor network is a SMD (surface- mount device) offering a range of valuable features for electronic design. Additionally, due to its low-profile design, the MC4-5007KE is suitable for high voltage applications, and can be used for resistance measurements when it is connected in an AC measuring bridge – as well as being highly resistant to both ESD and EMF.

The MC4-5007KE is a four-layer, resin-molded network with two resistors, four jumpers and two multi-turn precision elements. This combination of components provides a secure connection with solid reliability, and it also offers excellent insulation characteristics. The combination of the components, and their placement within the network, also allows the MC4-5007KE to provide high burst currents, and the device can even be used in high-voltage pulse applications.

The network also incorporates an active metal layer which helps protect against static effects, which can cause problems in applications running in corrosive environments. The two resistive contacts, located at the center of the network, are formed from a very thin oxide coating, which allows for accurate and repeatable resistance measurements. This oxide layer also helps to keep the contact resistance constant, even when exposed to harsh environmental conditions.
