Introduction
The MC74VHCT74ADR2G is a logic device in the Logic – Flip Flop category. Working Principle
The MC74VHCT74ADR2G consists of two flip-flops coupled in a single package. These flip-flops operate in a standard D-type mode, with one data input (D) and one output (Q). When a logic high level (1) is applied to the data input (D), the output (Q) shall be opposite of the input and a low level (0) on the data input shall cause the output to be the same as the input.
The two flip-flops are independently clocked by two separate Clock inputs (CP and CP′). When a rising edge is applied to either of the Clock inputs, the data input at that same time is transferred to the output of the flip-flop. This allows for a data transfer from one flip-flop to the other.
The flip-flop’s output can also be reset to a LOW level by applying a Logic HIGH level to the common reset (R) input. This will cause both of the flip-flop’s outputs to reset to LOW regardless of the data input. The reset input has priority so the Clock inputs will be unresponsive until it returns back to a LOW level.
