This board offers a wide range of power conversion capabilities with high-end efficiency and an excellent design that simplifies design, development, and performance verification of high-performance DC/DC and AC/DC power conversion designs.This evaluation board features Microchip’s MCP1640P voltage regulator and PowerPAK SMT Power Stage components. The MCP1640P controller is a highly integrated, low-cost solution specifically designed for switch-mode power applications. It provides full protection and voltage feedback control solutions for high-efficiency DC/DC and AC/DC power supply designs in a wide operating temperature range. The MOC3043/2043 zero-cross optotriac photorelays are used to provide primary side control and isolation.The MCP1640EV-SBC evaluation board includes an on-board, independent switching Voltage reference, allowing for enhanced design stability and improved product quality. The Voltage reference is configured to operate at 5V and offers a wide temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. The optional low-cost external feedforward compensation provided by the MCP1640BW-PAK-EV1 allows for the highest possible DC/DC & AC/DC conversion efficiency.The MCP1640EV-SBC evaluation board includes a built-in oscilloscope mode that allows users to observe parameters of interest in real-time. This feature allows users to quickly measure steady-state and transient responses by adjusting parameters such as the switching frequency, power stage type and topologies, and compensation settings.The MCP1640EV-SBC is a versatile, high-performance evaluation board that simplifies the design, development, and verification of high-efficiency DC/DC and AC/DC switched-mode power supplies.
