MDM04-C21-14 application field and working principle

MDM04-C21-14 is a type of D-Sub cables that is derived from the combination of a miniature D-Subminiature (MDM) connector and an IEC C21 connector cable. As such, it is commonly used to link up a computer or an external monitor to a digital television.

Primarily, the installation process of MDM04-C21-14 relies on the plug and connector methods, hence eliminating any need for soldering for the connection.

The working principle of MDM04-C21-14 involves using a mini D-Sub connector that is designed with 24 pins on the male side and the corresponding 24 holes on the female side as the plugging-in media, as shown in Figure 1 below. To achieve the connection, the 24 pin of the male side of the connector is plugged into the corresponding 24 holes on the female end.

Aside from it being used as the plugging-in media, the mini D-Sub connector also enables the stable transfer of signals that are required for the linked devices to communicate to one another efficiently. As such, with the connector in place, audio, video and other data signals are able to travel between the sources and the digital television while remaining in stable condition.

The IEC C21 connector cable, on the other hand, serves as the main conduit of the electrical signals that are being transmitted between the computer and the TV. It is important to note that the IEC C21 connector cable in this application is usually of the shielded type. This is to ensure that signals being transferred remain free from excess noise.

In conclusion, MDM04-C21-14 D-Sub cables serve as a reliable connection media between a computer or external monitor and a digital television. It is able to provide a stable data transfer between these two devices and also offers environmental protection due to its shielded IEC C21 cable.
