The IBR converts the alternating current (AC) into a direct current pulse, leading to the application of the pulse modulation principle. The IBR stores a certain amount of charge on a capacitor. When the capacitor voltage reaches the high level, the transistor switch is turned on and current flows in the load. When the voltage drops to a low level, the transistor switch is turned off and current is cut off from the load.
The BSC is commonly used in cell phone chargers and RF amplifiers to convert high DC voltage to adjustable low DC voltage. The MEV1S0505DC series also use the BSC to regulate the output DC voltage from a fluctuating AC input voltage.
