Additionally, the fuse is RoHS compliant and certified to the latest electrical safety standards.The main working principle behind the MF-R700-0-99 is the use of a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) thermistor. The thermistor is a special type of resistor that has a very low resistance when cool and a high resistance when hot. The heat generated when a short circuit or an overload occurs, causes the thermistor to get hot, which increases its resistance. This increase in resistance limits the current flowing through the circuit and prevents it from becoming too high. The limiting of the current prevents the circuit from becoming damaged from the overload.Once the thermistor has cooled down, it returns to its low resistance state allowing normal operation. The character of the resetting is defined by the user and it can be configured from 1 second to several minutes.
