PTC Resettable Fuses

PTC Resettable Fuses are instruments which can interrupt the circuit in the event of an overload and then reset automatically after normal conduction current is restored. One type of resettable fuse is MF-RHT600-0.

Application Field of MF-RHT600-0

MF-RHT600-0 fuses can be widely used in different applications, such as telecommunications, power electronics, computer peripherals, grinding tools, automotive electronics, medical equipment, military equipment, and industrial automation system. Because of their excellent features, such as fast response, precise current limiting, and automatic resetting function, MF-RHT600-0 fuses are used in these applications.

Working Principle of MF-RHT600-0

The working principle of MF-RHT600-0 involves a composition of thermistors and high power resistors. In normal operation, the PTC resettable fuse is in a low resistance state. When the external current is higher than the rated current, the temperature of the thermistor in the fuse increases and a threshold temperature is exceeded. At this point, the resistors in the fuse change their resistance value from low to high, increasing the impedance of the device. This interrupts the circuit. When the temperature falls below the threshold temperature, the resistors in the fuse return to their original state and the circuit is restored.
