PTC Resettable Fuses are overcurrent protection devices with the capabilities to self-reset. They contains a Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) element which allows current to flow when in its low resistance state. If the current exceeds a certain level then the PTC element will become resistive and result in a rapid shut off of current effectively resetting the device.
One type of PTC resettable fuse is the MF-RHT900-AP. It has a rated current up to 35A, a rated voltage of 300V AC/DC, and a wide operating temperature range from -55°C to +125°C. It is small, lightweight, has a low insertion loss and a fast response time, which makes it ideal for various applications such as telecommunications, computer, audio/visual, and automotive electronics.
The working principle of the MF-RHT900-AP involves a resettable PTC element placed in series between the load and the line. The PTC will resist very strongly when the current through it exceeds the trip current level. When the current is increased above this level, the PTC will rapidly become resistive reducing the current flow by switching off the load circuit. It will be powered off and entered into a low resistance recovery mode when the current level falls below the trip current.
The MF-RHT900-AP has an impressive surge current rating of up to 35A for 10ms. The high surge current is due to the internal components design with multiple contacts to provide excellent low resistance paths when the current exceeds the trip current level. The MF-RHT900-AP is also designed to be surge current proof against transients up to 20times of rated current.
The MF-RHT900-AP is UL-recognized and approved to UL 1434, IEC 60950-1, and IEC 61935-2. It is also RoHS compliant. It is designed with a self-extinguishing PBT housing, self-deionization technology, and dual-action termination to create an incredibly reliable and user-friendly device.
Overall, the MF-RHT900-AP is an excellent choice for overcurrent protection. It has a wide range of applications, such as ATE, OA, automotive, and energy saving industries. With its high surge current rating, fast response time, and high operating temperature range, this type of PTC resettable fuse is reliable, durable, and user-friendly.
